How We Use Buyer Data

Every rating on this site comes from public Amazon and Costco buyer reviews. Here is exactly how we turn them into the numbers you see.

Where the data comes from

We read the public review summaries for each Govee outdoor model on Amazon and, for the Elite, on Costco. The star rating and the number of ratings shown on each model page are the totals listed by those retailers.

How the percentages are calculated

For each topic buyers mention (looks, lighting quality, installation, value, reliability, durability and so on), we count the positive and negative mentions. The percentage is positive mentions divided by total mentions for that topic. Colors follow one rule: green at 80% or higher, amber from 60% to 79%, red below 60%.

Small samples

When a topic has fewer than 20 mentions we label it as few mentions, and newer models such as the 2 Pro carry an early-data note. Treat those numbers as a first look, not a verdict.

What we do not do

• We do not write or edit reviews.
• We do not remove negative topics.
